Creative Workshops for schools
From Reception Year up to Year 11, we can offer teachers the opportunity to bring in their class for a creative workshop that supports the national curriculum. These workshops are overseen by our trained, DBS checked leaders and are held on our mezzanine floor which provides a private and safe environment. We design our workshops alongside you to enhance and complement the skills your students are learning within school. We can develop themed art activities for your students to fit with any subject area you are looking at in class – from marbling paper as an exploration of surface tension on water or junk modelling to examine centre of gravity, to anatomical drawing as part of a biology project – there are endless possibilities.
Alternatively we can offer workshops that are unrelated to the curriculum and perhaps give the children the opportunity to work with materials they might not get the chance to use in school or to enjoy the mental down-time that creativity unrelated to formal assessment can provide. Workshops normally last between 1 ½ and 2 hours depending on the age of the children and we can cater for classes of up to 30.
Creative workshops based on an inspiring visit to the Royal Cornwall Museum
Truro Arts Company is situated next to the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro which offers rich opportunities for themed art activities. Many schools have taken advantage of our location by booking in a workshop here before or after a trip to the museum. We are more than happy to offer your class an activity specifically designed around the focus of your museum visit.
