Description:

Using mixed media and found objects, you will create artwork full of texture and interest inspired by Cornish boats and harbours. Guided by Glyn’s irrepressible energy and imagination you will learn how to use acrylic paints in unusual, creative, and surprising ways to create two inviting pieces of work packed with life.

 

All abilities very welcome.

Glyn is a celebrated artist and tutor and has previously been featured on the ITV series ‘Cornwall with Caroline Quentin’. Glyn is also the author of highly acclaimed acrylic painting book ‘Acrylics Unleashed’.

 

A selection of materials are required to be brought along with you for the workshop, they are as follows:

Acrylic Paint: Phthalo blue, cobalt blue, phthalo green, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, burnt umber, prussian blue, titanium white
Brushes: No 12 Flat, No 4 Flat, No 8 Round, No 4 Round, No 8 Filbert
Heavyweight watercolour paper or mount board (approx A3 is ideal)
1” – 2” old decorators brush
Old toothbrush
Small radiator roller (small paint roller)
Small piece of sponge
Palette knife
Craft knife
Glue Stick
PVA glue (small pot)
Water pot
Palette
Scissors
Table easel (if you have one)
Board support and bulldog clips (optional)

These are suggestions based on the items Glyn uses. Feel free to replace items/colours with your own if easier. Workshops are based on teaching techniques therefore exact colour matches are not essential. Glyn usually has extras of most of the items so no worries if you don’t have all of them.

All are available to purchase in the Truro Arts shop and you will receive a 10% discount on all supplies on the day of workshop.
