This is a one day workshop that will show you how to paint big sky paintings using watercolour and white paint wet in wet. During the day you will be shown how to paint on to wet paper, lift off with tissue, mix strong dark colours, how to use white paint such as Chinese White, Gouache or white ink and how to produce paintings where the sky dominates the picture. By the end of the day you will have produced at least 2 paintings. Ideal for beginners and students with some knowledge of the medium.
Jonathan Newey is an award winning artist who lives and works in Reading. He comes from a strong artistic background and is believed to be the 4th generation artist in his family. He works in a variety of mediums and subjects including drawing and painting with watercolour, pencils and acrylic. He is a founder member and signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society and is well known for his realistic coloured pencil drawings of animals. He has been teaching art courses in adult education for 20 years and runs regular courses on drawing and painting with watercolour, acrylic, coloured pencil and watercolour pencil.
