This workshop will teach you how to paint wildlife full of colour and movement in Stephie Bulter’s inspiring impressionistic style! You will focus on the face of the animal and how to portray feelings and emotions in your subject using watercolour. There will be a mixture of ongoing demonstrating and one-to-one attention that will focus on the face and how to portray feelings and emotion in a subject. You will be encouraged to develop your own style, to learn how to paint with instinct alongside technique, to simplify drawings prior to painting to enable a looser style, to paint with colour that deviates away from the norm. Most of all, you’ll have fun and come away inspired to paint more!
Stephie was awarded the “Derwent Art Materials Award” in 2015, and more recently the new “Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour Award” at the selected Society of East Anglian Watercolourists Exhibition 2017. She is an elected member of the Society of Women Artists in 2018, following work being regularly selected and sold at exhibition in the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. Her work has been featured in a book on watercolour techniques, included in the International Watercolour Society catalogue, and also used as a book cover. Regularly entering and being selected for exhibitions in the UK, she has achieved best in show, runner up and has had solo exhibitions in the UK and abroad.
