Professional printmaker Dena O’Brien will take you through the simple delights of the hand cut stencil. She will guide you through the process of creating your own screen-prints, perfect to take home and frame or use as little gifts.
This workshop is great for beginners wanting to learn the fundamentals of screen-printing. You will be shown how to turn a design into a hand cut stencil, mix inks and pull a squeegee. Once the design is on the screen you can reuse it a number of times to produce your own limited edition paper prints.
All printing equipment is supplied for this workshop.
Please bring general tools such as pencils, pens, rubber and ruler. Plus a sharp craft knife and a cutting matt if you have one.
You are welcome to bring along your own paint should you want to use a specific colour. You may also bring along your own paper. We have plenty of printing paper in the shop should you decide half way through the day that you’d like something different to print onto.
Don’t forget to think about your design – either bring your design or images for inspiration.
IT COULD GET MESSY SO PLEASE BRING AN APRON OR WEAR SCRUFFY CLOTHES.
