Immerse yourself in the resist method of wet felting and transform beautiful wool into a vessel of your choice. Jo will guide you through each stage of the process. You will leave the workshop with not only a complete 3D piece but also fully equipped with the skills to go on to create your own bags, hats, bags, phone cases and even more abstract artwork. All wool is supplied. Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet.
Please note: This is not needle felting
This workshop is suitable for those who previously attended Jo’s ‘An Introduction to Felt-Making’ workshop at Truro Arts or who have experience of wet felt making.
Jo Polack is a textile artist living and working in St Agnes. Her felt work and layered mixed media embroidery is inspired by the ecosystems of our Cornish coastal waters, and for the past decade she has worked in community arts running events, workshops and projects that encourage people to explore the environment through creativity.
Her felt work and her layered mixed media embroidery is largely inspired by the detail in the ecosystems of our Cornish coastal waters, working closely with marine ecologists, local divers, fishermen and conservation charities. Her ‘Stitch Maps’ of local towns and landscapes are also much sought after.
Everything you need is supplied for this the workshop (felt, soap, rollers, bubble wrap, blinds and towels)
